Twin Lakes in Winfield was the destination for a few area boys golf teams on Friday for a class 1A sectional and Keota was able to advance by cracking the top two.
The Eagles shot an 18-hole round of 358 to place second out of seven. New London won the competition with 341 strokes. Top Eagle score came from Luke Hammen in third with a round of 85 and Colten Clarahan was sixth with an 87. Max Johnson and Caden Sprouse each shot a 93 to round out the team results. WMU missed the cutoff to advance by two strokes with a 360, but the Wolves did have three individual qualifiers in Brady Loyd, Jacob Kongable, and Isaac Schurr. Loyd was runner-up meet medalist with an 83 while Kongable and Schurr tied for the final qualifying spot with a 92. Bryce Wade was one stroke shy of moving on with a 93. Columbus Community also competed and placed fifth with 418 strokes. Tucker Bright recorded a 98, Robert Coil 104, Cole Storm 106, and Trenton Hoback 110.
Keota and the trio of Wolves now advance to districts on Thursday at Pleasant Valley in Iowa City.
