After an opening round win over Columbus Friday night, the Hillcrest Academy soccer team advanced to Saturday’s doubleheader round of the Southeast Iowa Superconference tournament. The Raven revenge tour continued in the semifinals, taking out Mediapolis 3-1. Hillcrest got a swift strike from Noah Miller on a Will Kolck assist put the Ravens up in the fourth minute 1-0. Miller made it 2-0 Hillcrest in the final five minutes of the first half with defensive pressure, a takeaway and a finish on his own. Things stayed that way until the final 10 minutes when Mediapolis cut the lead in half with a shot to the upper 90. Leading 2-1 late, John Hughes beat the Bulldog defense, posting an insurance goal in the last 90 seconds of the match to secure the win.

Following the victory over Mediapolis, the Ravens had one half hour to get ready for No. 1 ranked Burlington Notre Dame. The Nikes beat Hillcrest by a mercy rule 10-0 score to claim the tournament title. The Ravens gave up 25 shots on goal, Aiden Krabill had 15 saves. After the split, Hillcrest, the six seed in the tournament, finished as runners-up and hold a 7-5 record going into a Monday senior night matchup with the Washington Demons.
