The Hillcrest Academy soccer team celebrated senior night with a 2-0 victory over the visiting Washington Demons. The Ravens continued to use their formula for success of scoring early, as Jorge Canchola drove home a direct kick in the sixth minute to make it 1-0. The Raven defense made that tally stand up through the first half and then Noah Miller doubled the Hillcrest lead with a finish on an Andrew Starr assist. Aiden Krabill and the Raven defense did the rest, turning in a clean sheet that included 12 saves. The Ravens honored eight seniors including Dominic Bouse, Eli Ours, Will Kolck, Aaron Hershberger, Aiden Yoder, London Schrock, John Hughes and Johnny Diaz. Hillcrest is now 8-5 on the year and will meet Central Lee Thursday night in the first round of the substate tournament. The Demons fall to 9-5 and will open the tournament Thursday at Fort Madison against Fairfield.
