An already impressive track record just got stronger for the Demon girls’ golf program, as they added another Southeast Conference title to their history with a first place showing at Monday’s conference meet in Washington.

The Demons shot an 18-hole score of 336 on their home course to run away from second place Mount Pleasant with a 425. Kiki Bruner shot a 40 on the front nine and 38 on the back to have a meet medalist score of 78. Anna Nacos and Makenna Conrad tied for runner-up with 84s and Kaylin Long chipped in with a 90. Josie Tanner also received all conference honors with a 98 and Alecia Goff was honorable mention with 104. Bruner tells KCII Sports the conditions were not great, but the team found a way to get it done. “The conditions were tough today since it is has rained a lot the last couple days. The course was definitely wet, but we played well despite that. Since this is our senior year, it means a lot to win a conference title and we are very proud.”

Washington now gears up for the postseason next Monday when they travel to Edmundson in Oskaloosa.
