The next chapter in the Washington and Mid-Prairie rivalry takes place in girls soccer tonight when the Demons host the Golden Hawks. Washington comes into the match with an overall record of 6-6. The Demons fell to Centerville Tuesday 5-4. Trina Griffin leads Washington with 21 goals while Greta Rothe, Giselle Marcelino and Taylor Brinning all have three assists. Elyse Hunt and Alex Murphy each have 47 saves in goal for the Demons with a combined 77% save percentage.

Mid-Prairie is 9-5 on the year after beating West Branch 5-1 last Friday. For the year the Hawks are led by Esther Hughes with 19 goals, Kaitlin Martin with five assists and in goal Emily Swartzentruber with 67 saves and a 72.8% save percentage. Mid-Prairie has won nine of the last 11 matches in the series, but Washington was a 4-0 winner over the Golden Hawks in Wellman in 2019. Action starts tonight at 4:30 at Washington High School.
