Roman Roth represented the Washington boys’ golf team at a class 3A district in Burlington on Thursday and the freshman saw his season come to a close.
At Flint Hills Golf Course, Roth shot a 42 front-nine and 44 back-nine to make 86 for the day and finish 15th in the field. Kayden Pennegrass of Mount Vernon and Brayden Almquist of Vinton-Shellsburg were the individual qualifiers with Solon and Monticello cracking the top two in the team standings.
Roth finishes his freshman campaign with a 78 average, that is 32nd in the state regardless of class.
