The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk girls golf team is in West Liberty today with a bid to the state tournament on the line in the regional finals. The Hawks got through the first round of the regional tournament at Mediapolis last week with their team score of 456, finishing second to Williamsburg. The Hawks were led in the event by Madelyn Bender with her round of 109. On the season, Mid-Prairie has a team average of 452 for 18 holes, led by Bender at 106. Joining Mid-Prairie today in West Liberty will be Anamosa with their 418 average per 18 holes led by Lexah Miller at 99, Tipton with their 425 average per 18 led by Alli Nash at 83 and Williamsburg with their 385 average, led by Teagan Schaefer at 92. The top two teams and top six individuals advance to the state meet in Marshalltown. Action continues all day Monday at the West Liberty Golf Course.
