The 2021 State Track and Field Meet was held this past weekend in Des Moines, with the Mid-Prairie girls team sitting on top.
The team earned first place in class 2A, with Danielle Hostetler earning first place in the 3000 and 1500 meter races, the distance medley relay team of Hostetler, Maddie Edgington, Tabitha Evans, and Amber Swart also winning first, and Mitzi Evans winning second place in the 800 meter. For other teams in the KCII-listening area, Washington’s Elijah Morris was state champion in the 400 meter for class 3A. Listen to KCII Sports for further coverage of the meet.
