As they have all year long, dominating on the course is exactly what the Washington girls’ golf team did on Monday, but this time the stakes were higher. The program punched their ticket to another state tournament by placing first at a class 3A regional final in Oskaloosa.

The Demons shot an 18-hole score of 317 at Edmundson Golf Course and that blew by second place Lisbon with a 379. The best three scores and four of the top six belonged to the orange and black led by meet medalist Kiki Bruner. The senior bested the 46-player field with a 36 front nine and 35 back nine for a 71 total. Anna Nacos was runner-up with a 75, Josie Tanner third with 82, and Kaylin Long was sixth with an 89. Scratch scores included Makenna Conrad 96 and Alecia Goff 105.

Washington now gears up for the class 3A state meet June 1st and 2nd at River Valley Golf Course in Adel.
