
The Lone Tree softball team claimed a rivalry victory Friday night over visiting Hillcrest Academy by a 12-0 score in four innings. After a scoreless first frame, the Lions exploded in the second, sending 16 hitters to the plate and scoring 11 times using seven hits and a pair of Hillcrest errors. The big blows were a two RBI double from Arlie Lorack and a two RBI single from Avery Grover. Lone Tree would end the game two frames later with an RBI ground out from Skyler Smith. Kaylee Runledt led the Lions with two hits, Ellen Carrow scored three times. In the circle, Lorack recorded the shut out, giving up three hits and striking out three. The Raven offense got individual hits from Esther Hughes, Sarah Miller and Evelyn Gerber. Lone Tree is now 2-1 on the year as Hillcrest falls to 0-3.
