Mid-Prairie senior Dominic McCain stayed steady on day two of the state golf meet in Marshalltown Friday. After finding himself in 13th place with an opening day 81 on Thursday, he came back to close out the tournament with an 80 on day two, finishing in an 11th place tie with Brayden Almquist of Vinton-Shellsburg at 161. Hogan Hansen of Waverly-Shell Rock was the tournament champion with his score of 145. He shot 38 on the front nine and 42 coming back to the clubhouse. His round included 12 pars.
