It was a busy end to the first week for the Washington softball team when they split with Oskaloosa on Thursday and dropped a single non-conference game against Regina on Friday.
The Demons brought the bats in game one against Oskaloosa with a 17-5 victory led by a four RBI performance from RyLee Fishback on a pair of hits and Kellie Dallmeyer brought in three. Cara Linnenkamp tossed a complete game giving up four earned runs and just one walk while striking out two. The nightcap resulted in a 10-7 loss, but the offense peppered 12 hits from nine different batters led by Emma Herr with two hits and two RBI. Emmy Wenger gave up six earned runs on eight hits in the circle. A four-run first inning for the Regals on Friday was all they needed in a 5-1 victory over the orange and black. Dallmeyer had two of the team’s three hits. Linnenkamp threw six innings giving up one earned run on three knocks.
Washington moves to 1-3 and gets back on the field tonight hosting Durant (0-3) for a single game.
