The first tournament of the year for the Columbus Community softball team resulted in a split on Saturday at Louisa-Muscatine.
The Wildcats led Lisbon 2-0 for much of game one, but a late Lion rally resulted in an 8-3 loss. Columbus could muster up just four hits with Jobie Lekwa recording one of them and one RBI. Lily Coil tossed six innings in the circle giving up four earned runs on nine hits and striking out eight. The Wildcats responded in the finale with a four run sixth inning to propel them past Mount Pleasant 5-2. Victoria Howell brought in a pair of tallies and Michelle Diaz registered one RBI. Libby White was the winning pitcher throwing four innings giving up one earned run on four knocks.
Columbus is 1-2 and they travel to New London tomorrow.
