The Winfield-Mt. Union School district is hosting an open house Saturday, June 5th to review future plans for district facilities. A team of community members and staff have provided options for improving the current school facilities and the district is asking community members to review these ideas and provide their input on how to address the facilities challenges the district faces. There are two proposed options, the first includes the construction of a secondary gym meeting space, an addition to the industrial technology classroom and a high school weight room addition. This would provide 16,580 square feet of new space at a cost of just over $4.1 million. The second option includes these same renovations at a total of 17,080 square feet and a price of just over $4.4 million. BLDD Architects and Estes Construction have helped to provide project estimates and design services. The open house will be hosted at the New Industrial Tech Building 202 South Locust Street in Winfield from 8a.m. to noon. Architects, finance experts and school staff will be available to answer questions.
