A pair of area Southeast Iowa Super Conference matchups took place in Columbus Junction on Friday when the Wildcat summer teams welcomed Winfield-Mt. Union and the road Wolves picked up two wins.

The WMU softball squad plated six runs in the fifth inning that powered them to a 9-1 victory. The Wolves managed 14 hits led by a 3-for-4 with two RBI night from Molly Miller. Jobey Malone had a pair of singles and brought in two tallies. Madie Anderson threw a complete game in the circle giving up one run (unearned), three hits, two walks, and striking out 14. WMU is now 6-1 and Columbus dropped to 2-4. 

The Wolves’ baseball bats came alive in their first win of the season to down the Wildcats 17-4. Nine players accounted for 10 hits led by Jacob Ford going 2-for-3 with two RBI and two runs scored. Cole Milks registered three RBI. Ford tossed four innings giving up three runs (one earned) on two hits and striking out nine. WMU is now 1-6 and Columbus is 0-3.
