Just after 10a.m. Monday, the Washington County Safety Center received a call from On-Star reporting that a Chevy Silverado pickup had the air bags deploy and a vehicle roll had been detected at the Crawfordsville turn on Highway 218. At the scene it was determined that James Johnson of Mount Pleasant did not stop at the stop sign and collided with a vehicle driven by Jared Smith of Batavia. Johnson was cited for failure to obey stop sign and yield right of way. Responding to the scene were Crawfordsville QRS, Crawfordsville Fire, Washington Rescue, Washington Fire, Washington County Sheriff’s Office and the Iowa State Patrol.
