Just after 5 p.m. Saturday a two vehicle wreck was reported by the Iowa State Patrol on Highway 63 near Eddyville in Wapello County. The collision occurred when a 2012 Chevy Sonic, driven by 33-year-old Christopher Kelley of Kearney, Nebraska entered Highway 63 traveling east from Eddyville Road and collided with a 2019 Dodge Caravan driven by 46-year-old Patrick McAvan of Fairfield. Kelley was transported to University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics by Mercy One Life Flight, and 10-year-old Anna McAvan of Fairfield, a passenger in the Caravan, was transported to Ottumwa Regional Hospital by private vehicle. Also responding to the scene were the Wapello County Sheriff’s Office, Wapello County Fire, Blakesburg Fire and Ottumwa Regional Medical Staff. The crash remains under investigation.
