On back-to-back nights the Lone Tree baseball and softball teams faced off with Southeast Iowa Super Conference opponents and went 1-3 in the four contests.
The baseball squad went on the road to Packwood on Monday and lost to Pekin by a 7-3 final, but bounced back for a home victory last night by a 10-3 tally against Wapello. The Lions struggled for just two hits against the Panthers with Adam Knock tossing five innings on the hill giving up four runs on five hits and striking out eight. The offense answered last night by recording 10 knocks led by a 3-for-4 with four RBI performance from Will Kleckner. Mathew Hemsted brought in a pair of runs. The softball team had a hard time against Pekin dropping that league game 10-1 and last night couldn’t keep up in a 12-7 loss to the Arrows.
The baseball team moved to 3-5 and softball is 7-5. Both squads travel to Winfield tomorrow.
