The Southeast Iowa Super Conference released its all conference list for the 2021 boys’ soccer season and members from the area were recognized.
Columbus Community had five players honored including first team selections in Gary Molina and Javier Panchillo. Molina was a scoring machine with 21 goals in the spring that ranked first in the division and his seven goal performance against Highland on April 15th was the third largest scoring output in the entire state. Panchillo provided depth offensively with nine goals and five assists. Marco Martinez was named to the second team. The junior anchored the Wildcat defense and also found the back of the net on his only shot of the season. Gabe Alcala and Van Bawi were recognized as honorable mention.
Highland had a pair of players on honorable mention in seniors Owen Donovan and Ramses Vergara. Donovan led the Huskie offense with seven goals and Vergara set up a lot of those tallies with five assists on the season.
Columbus finished the campaign with an 8-7 record and Highland was 0-11.
