The City of Riverside has issued public notice that there is a current vacancy on the council. Jeanine Redlinger penned her resignation which took effect on May 31st. The Council has chosen to fill the spot by appointment. Residents have the right to petition if they would like to hold a special election to fill the seat. They intend to make the appointment in their regular meeting June 21st. The appointment will become effective immediately. The term for the seat expires December 31st.
