The Washington Public Library is closed today as they continue installing new carpet on their main level.

The library was also closed to the public Tuesday as carpet is being replaced following a glass display window that fell and shattered spreading glass shards throughout the facility this spring. The library staff is also organizing the shelving in the children’s area so it will be open tomorrow, and the adult area and computers will remain closed for the rest of the week. Children’s and teen’s books, all DVDs, and audiobooks are currently available for curbside checkout only. These collections are anticipated to be back on the shelves by the beginning of July after carpeting is placed in that area. The library thanks the public for their patience and understanding, and you can find more information and reserve materials for curbside checkout by finding a link here.
