Chalk up another mercy rule victory for the Winfield-Mt. Union softball team, as they traveled to New London last night for a cross over Southeast Iowa Super Conference showdown and downed the Tigers (4-15) by a 13-0 final score.
The Wolves scored in every inning including putting up a five spot in the sixth to make it a short night. The team recorded 12 hits led by a 3-for-4 night with three runs scored by Carlee Sloan and Jobey Malone had three knocks with two RBI. Madie Anderson was her normal self in the circle with six innings pitched giving up just one hit, two walks, and striking out 13. The senior lowered her season ERA to 0.63 in 89 innings of work. WMU improves to 11-3 overall. The Wolves baseball team could never find any traction against the undefeated Tigers (12-0) by dropping the contest 20-0. Winfield-Mt. Union is now 1-14 on the season.
Both squads host Pekin tonight.
