The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball team took frustrations out on the Bellevue Comets Thursday at Mount Mercy, winning the River Valley contest 12-3. The No. 3 Golden Hawks had been swept the night prior at No. 12 Eddyville-Blakesburg, but they bounced back against Bellevue, asserting themselves early with three runs in the first, another in the second and five in the third to build a 9-0 lead. The Comets would get on the board with three of their own in the sixth, which Mid-Prairie answered with three in the seventh. Kayden Reinier, Karson Grout, Aidan Rath and Keegan Gingierch each finished with two hits. Grout drove in a game high three. Alex Bean got the complete game win for the Hawks, allowing three hits, three runs and striking out 17 Comets. Mid-Prairie is now 11-4 on the year and travels to Wilton Monday.
