The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk softball team was on the wrong end of a pair of games Wednesday in Eddyville-Blakesburg against the No. 5 Rockets. EBF got the wins by scores of 6-2 and 3-2. In game one, the Rockets scored single runs in the first four innings to build a 4-1 advantage. The Rockets got two in the sixth and Mid-Prairie one in their final at bat. Madeline Schrader led the Hawks with three hits. Myah Lugar and Dawsyn Miller each had an RBI. Lugar went the distance in the circle, allowing 13 hits, four earned runs and striking out two.
In the nightcap it was the Hawks that got on the board first with a pair in the second. The Rockets broke through with three in the fourth and that was it for the two offenses. Landry Pacha and Dakota Mitchell each had two hits. Brittany Kinsinger drove in one. Dawsyn Miller took the loss for the Hawks in the circle, working six innings, giving up nine hits and three earned runs. Mid-Prairie is now 4-18 and will face Davenport West Friday.
