The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball and softball teams take on Wilton in a River Valley Conference doubleheader on the road Monday night. The Golden Hawk baseball team comes into the contest with an 11-4 overall record after a 12-3 win over Bellevue at Mount Mercy Thursday. They are ranked No. 3 in class 2A in the latest poll from the Iowa High School Baseball Coaches Association. For the year, the Hawks are hitting .357, second best in 2A, with a team ERA of 3.79. Individually, Mid-Prairie is led by Aidan Rath, hitting .511 with 25 RBI and eight home runs. On the mound, Rath is 2-1 with a 1.29 ERA. Alex Bean is 3-0 with a 3.86ERA.

Wilton is 7-4 this season. They dropped a game 5-0 to Davenport North on Friday. The Beavers are ranked No. 15 in class 2A in the lastest Coaches Association poll. For the year, Wilton is hitting .254 as a team with an ERA of 2.45, seventh in 2A. Individually, the Beavers are led by Gage Hagen, hitting .324. On the mound it’s Karson Willey with a 2-0 record in 26 innings with a 2.42 ERA. Jackson Hull is 3-1 with a 1.21 ERA in 17 innings. These two teams met once a year ago with Mid-Prairie winning 7-6. The Hawks have won two in a row in the series, Wilton had won the previous 11.

The Mid-Prairie softball team is 4-20 on the year. They were beaten in both ends of a doubleheader Friday by Davenport West. For the year, the Hawks are hitting .315 as a team with an overall ERA of 7.77. Individually, Mid-Prairie is led by Myah Lugar with a .378 average and 28 hits. Lugar is also the leader in the circle with a 4-13 record, 109 innings thrown and a seven ERA.

Wilton is 14-3 on the year. The Beavers beat Cascade Thursday 8-1. The Beavers are ranked No. 2 in the state in class 2A in the latest poll from the Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union. The Beavers are hitting .415 as a team, second in 2A. The Beavers have a 3.10 ERA. Individually, Wilton is paced by Payton Ganzer with a .615 average with 28 hits. In the circle, Mila Johnson is 7-0 with a 3.39 ERA in 43 innings. The Beavers beat the Hawks 6-5 last season and Wilton has won six of the last eight in the series.
