Fort Madison is the destination to start week five for the Washington summer teams tonight when they battle the Bloodhounds for the second time.

Halfway through the conference slate and the softball team finds themselves in the thick of things being just one game back of the Southeast Conference lead. They hold a 13-12 overall mark and 7-3 in the league after sweeping Mount Pleasant on Thursday by 11-1 and 18-2 final scores. Ava Turner went a perfect 4-for-4 in game one while Bella Salazar tossed all five frames in the circle giving up just one run on three hits. It was a vintage Kellie Dallmeyer game in the nightcap going an eye-popping 5-for-5 with a home run, two singles, two triples, and bringing in five tallies. Fort Madison is 5-10 overall, 2-6 in the conference, and when these teams met up on June 3rd it was Washington that pulled out an 8-7 and 3-0 sweep at home.

The orange and black baseball squad is 9-5 overall and 6-4 in the league after sweeping Mount Pleasant on Thursday by a combined 44-18 tally. Fort Madison is 14-3, 8-2, and they split with Burlington last week. These two squads split the first meeting losing 7-4 in game one, but the Demons turned around for an exciting 4-3 win in the nightcap.

Listen to the softball doubleheader on FM 106.1 KCII with first pitch of game one starting at 5:30 p.m. from Fort Madison.
