
Two people were injured as a result of a semi and medium-duty truck collision in Henry County Thursday.
A freight semi truck driven by 47-year-old Christopher Dwight Love of Tuscumbia, Alabama and a medium-duty truck driven by 40-year-old Niya Lea Wilcoxson were both northbound on Highway 218 near mile marker 38 at about 1:22 p.m., according to Iowa State Patrol. Wilcoxson was starting to slow down to turn into a residence, and Love did not slow down and struck Wilcoxson from behind. Both drivers were transported by Henry County Ambulance to Henry County Health Center for treatment of injuries. Iowa Department of Transportation Motor Vehicle Enforcement, Henry County Sheriff’s Office, and Mount Pleasant Fire Department also assisted at the scene.
