A local boy scout is helping provide an amenity for the City of Kalona’s Southtown Area development as part of his Eagle Scout project.
Mose Yoder gave his proposal to install trail signs and a possible design to the Kalona City Council during their recent meeting. The project will also serve as a comprehensive look for ideas and sign design options for a proposed disc golf course in the former Shiloh complex south of Kalona. All materials needed for the project will be purchased locally. Signs will be made from sheet metal, hanging from an eight-foot high wooden post and a four foot wooden beam with the post being anchored in concrete. Yoder’s scout troop will be assisting with all the labor required for the project.
