wellman-4th-2021

The City of Wellman 4th of July celebration is back after taking a year off due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

With the 4th being on a Sunday this year, all festivities will take place this Saturday, July 3rd. Kicking off the day is a yoga class at 7 a.m. and a spin class at 8 a.m. at the Parkside Activity Center. Participants are encouraged to contact the YMCA to pre-register for both classes but walk-ins are still welcome. Downtown Wellman will be featuring a kiddie parade at 9:30 followed by the main parade at 10. There will be plenty of food options and fun activities to participate in immediately following the parade. Some of the featured activities include a pony ride, bingo, horseshoe tournament, obstacle course and music provided by Dan York. Wellman Chamber of Commerce President Heather Trimpe expresses her joy for seeing the celebration return, “It’s really exciting to get things back to a new normal, for the chamber. I know a lot of people missed the events last year so just getting back to what we always have at Wellman is really exciting.”

Festivities will conclude with a fireworks show beginning at dusk. KCII will be broadcasting live and playing music from Wellman’s 4th of July celebration from 8-11:30 a.m. Saturday as part of the Big Red Radio Summer Town Tour.
