Washington County bragging rights on the softball diamond belong to the Demons for a year, as they welcomed Mid-Prairie for a make up twin bill last night and swept the competition. 

Game one was a clean played contest on both sides with the Demons holding a 2-1 lead for most of it until Kellie Dallmeyer added insurance late with a two run blast to left field that led to a 4-1 victory. The senior had three of the team’s seven hits with Emmy Wenger and Ella Greiner also knocking in runs. Bella Salazar went the distance in the circle giving up just one run on four hits and striking out eight. Brittany Kinsinger was a boost for the Golden Hawk lineup going 2-for-3 with one RBI. Dawsyn Miller gave her team a chance finishing with six innings on the rubber giving up four runs on seven hits. 

The nightcap saw Washington have a 4-0 advantage disappear after a four run Golden Hawk third headlined by RBI knocks from Kinsinger, Dakota Mitchell, and Myah Lugar. The Mid-Prairie momentum didn’t last long, as the Demons put up a seven spot in the bottom half and never looked back in a 15-5 win in five frames. Dallmeyer had an identical shot to left field for her second dinger of the evening and set a school record with seven bombs in a season. Washington had nine knocks with Dallmeyer, Greiner, and Ava Turner each with two. Halle Cuddeback threw all five innings giving up five runs on five hits and walking none. Mitchell and Kinsinger recorded RBI tallies for the road Hawks and Landry Pacha gave up 11 runs on seven hits in 2 2/3 frames. 

Washington improves to 18-14 overall and Mid-Prairie falls to 9-28.
