A road trip to Fairfield is on the docket for the Washington baseball team tonight when they battle the Trojans in a twin bill.
The Demons come into tonight with a 12-7 overall record and sit at third in the Southeast Conference with an 8-6 league mark. They took down Keokuk in a pair of games on Monday by 11-1 and 10-7 finals. Wilx Witthoft had two knocks in the opener while Reece Mayer and Kole Williams each brought in three tallies. Williams tossed all five innings on the mound giving up one run (unearned) on four hits. Mayer picked up three more RBI in the nightcap and Isaac Vetter recorded the win pitching 6 1/3 frames giving up seven runs (two earned) on seven hits. Fairfield is 7-14, 5-9 in the league, and lost by 9-1 and 5-0 scores to Fort Madison last night. These two squads split the first meeting last month with Washington winning game one 5-4, but falling 13-3 in the second.
The first game gets started at 5:30 p.m. tonight in Fairfield with Dominic Ottens bringing the play-by-play on FM 106.1 KCII.
