It’s a day full of action in Kalona Thursday when the Hillcrest Academy Raven baseball and softball teams welcome Holy Trinity Catholic and Columbus. The afternoon contest matches the Crusaders against the Ravens on the softball diamond in a rain makeup from last week. The Hillcrest softball team is 0-20 on the year after dropping a pair of games to New London and Winfield-Mt. Union on Wednesday. For the season, Hillcrest is hitting .258 as a team with a staff ERA of 11.08. At the plate, they are led by Evelyn Gerber at .405 with 15 hits and six runs scored. In the circle, Leah Bontrager has thrown 82 innings with an 0-17 record and 12.33 ERA. Malia Yoder has thrown 20 innings with a 5.95 ERA.

Holy Trinity is 5-14 on the season, they fell to Lone Tree yesterday 6-2. On the season, the Crusaders are hitting .244 with a staff ERA of 4.90. Individually, HTC is paced by Halie Cain with a .385 average and Mary Hellige with a 5-11 record in 94 innings with a 4.36 ERA. These two teams met last year in West Point with Holy Trinity winning 11-1. The Columbus softball team is 10-15 overall. The Wapello Arrows beat Columbus last time out 11-3 on Wednesday. For the year, the Wildcats are hitting .276 as a team with a 3.79 ERA. Individually, Columbus is led by Lily Coil with a .479 average, 35 total hits 24 runs scored and 14RBI. She is also the leader in the circle with 80 innings pitched 5-6 record and 2.45 ERA. The Wildcats beat the Ravens on June 10th by a 12-0 score in three innings. Their game will get underway at 7p.m.

The Hillcrest baseball team will also get their second look at the Columbus Wildcats tonight in Kalona. The Ravens are 8-7 on the year, after a 6-1 loss to Mediapolis Wednesday. For the year, the Ravens are hitting .313 collectively with a team ERA of 3.50. Individually, the Ravens are led by Luke Schrock at the plate at .451 with 23 total hits 16 RBI and 16 runs scored each. On the mound, Seth Ours, Liam Schrock and Noah Miller are a combined 4-0 with Ours holding a 0.70ERA.

Columbus is 0-16 this year, they dropped a 15-3 game against Wapello yesterday. For the year, the Wildcats are hitting .130 as a team with a staff ERA of 25.20. Individually, Columbus is led by Will Schwab with a .375 average on six hits and four runs scored. Yahir Ayala has thrown a team high eight innings with an 0-3 record and 25.27 ERA. These teams met on June 10th in CJ with the Ravens winning 18-0.
