The Washington Public Library will soon be finding a new director.
Director Bryna Walker submitted her resignation to the Board of Trustees Wednesday as she has accepted the director position for the Clear Lake Public Library. Walker has worked for the library for nearly three years, and has decided to leave the area to be closer to her hometown and family. Walker says she’s enjoyed her time in Washington, “We’ve added some great dimensions to the library the last three years, the baby garden, we’ve just ordered all the teen furniture. So I’m very proud of the accomplishments we’ve made the last three years. Those will continue on, they’ll start doing a search for the next director and things will continue because it’s a wonderful staff.”
Originally from Estherville, Walker was a teacher and librarian prior to working in Washington, and had received her Master’s degree in Library and Information Science with a K-12 Library Endorsement from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 2010. Her last day in Washington will be August 6th to start at her new position in September.
