The Hawks were a 15-8 winner at Northeast Goose Lake on Thursday night. For the year, Mid-Prairie is hitting .349 as a team, top five in class 2A, and have a combined ERA of 3.73. Individually, Mid-Prairie is led by Aidan Rath hitting .500 with 34 total hits, 33 RBI 30 runs scored and 11 homers. He is one of three Hawks, along with Karson Grout and Kayden Reinier that are hitting over .400 on the season. On the mound Keegan Gingerich is 4-1 with a 4.94 ERA, Alex Bean is 3-0 at 3.75 and Rath is 3-1 with a 1.20ERA. Washington has won four in a row in the series and seven of the last nine, including a 7-4 victory in their last meeting in 2019. The Mid-Prairie softball team is 9-29 on the year after a 15-6 loss at Northeast Goose Lake on Thursday night. For the year, Mid-Prairie is hitting .314 as a team with a staff ERA of 7.06. Individually, the Hawks are led by Dakota Mitchell with a .385 average with 40 hits, 22 RBI and 20 runs scored. In the circle, senior Myah Lugar has worked 144 innings with a 6-18 record and 6.32 ERA. North Cedar is 6-17 this year. They were beaten by Iowa City Regina 7-0 last time out. The Knights are hitting .270 as a team with a total ERA of 6.47. Individually, North Cedar is led by Maya Benhart with a .377 average on 20 hits with nine RBI and eight runs scored. In the circle it’s Kendall Smith with a 2-11 record across 76 innings with a 6.21 ERA. These two teams met last year with North Cedar taking a 2-1 win. The Hawks have 15 of the last 16 in the series.
