The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk baseball and softball teams traveled to Goose Lake to take on the Northeast Rebels Thursday in River Valley Conference action. The No. 7 Golden Hawk baseball team was a 15-8 winner. The Hawks scored single runs in the second and third to go up 2-0. Northeast put up three in the bottom half to take a brief 3-2 lead. Mid-Prairie tied it with a run in the third, took a lead with a run in the fourth, then scored eight times in the fifth, once more in the sixth and three times in the seventh to finish the win. The Hawks pounded out 12 hits including two homers. Aidan Rath was the offensive star of the night, belting both homers, ending with three total hits and driving in four. Collin Miller and Will Cavanagh each drove in two. Keegan Gingerich was the winning pitcher, working five innings, giving up four hits, three runs, walking three and striking out seven.

In the softball game between two schools, Northeast got by the Hawks 15-6. Things were back and forth early with Mid-Prairie leading 1-0 after their first at bat. The Rebels were up 2-1 after the bottom half, then the Hawks again took the lead back at 3-2 after the second and grew the advantage to 5-2 with two more runs in the road half of the fourth. From there, the No. 14 ranked Rebels asserted themselves with three in the fourth, sixth in the fifth and four  more in the sixth. The two teams combined for 31 hits, Northeast with 17 of those. Brynnlin Kroymann and Emma Kjergaard had three RBI on perfect five for five nights at the plate. Danica Eberhart was the winning pitcher, going three innings, allowing five hits and three runs. Dakota Mitchell and Dawsyn Miller each drove in two for Mid-Prairie with Mitchell collecting three hits. Miller took the loss in the circle working four and two thirds innings, giving up 17 hits and 11 runs. Mid-Prairie is now 10-29 on the season.
