Postseason recognition is inevitable when you win a state title and that was the case for Washington’s Elijah Morris when he was named to the all state track team last week.

The 2021 Iowa Association of Track Coaches released the all state teams and Morris was named for the 400m dash in class 3A. The sophomore won the event last month at the Blue Oval by winning state in 49.53 seconds. He edged out a win over Kieren Nichols of Knoxville, who clocked in at 49.65 seconds.

The top two from each event in each class received the all state honor.
