Carbon markets and weed management strategies for soybeans are the featured topics for an Agronomy Workshop and Crop Advisor Training event at the ISU Extension and Outreach Southeast Research and Demonstration Farm in Crawfordsville.

Extension Field Agronomist Rebecca Vittetoe says this training is targeted toward farmers, certified crop advisors, agribusiness professionals, and independent crop consultants. Vittetoe says the training will discuss integrated weed management strategies and soybean herbicide programs, and will feature ISU professors, “We’ve got Chad Hart coming out from campus and he’s going to talk a little bit about carbon markets. You hear a lot about carbon markets and carbon credits and he’s going to talk more on the econ. side of how that market’s been developed, kind of what we’re seeing there. And then we have Marshall McDaniel who is a professor in the agronomy department on campus and he is going to be joining us to talk a little bit more about the science of carbon.”

The workshop will last from 8 a.m.-noon July 13th, and the deadline to register is this Friday. For more information visit here.
