Work to resurface the six-mile middle portion of Riverside Road is set to begin this week.

Starting at 8 a.m. tomorrow, Riverside Road will be closed for a concrete overlay project between 190th Street or County Road G26 and Spruce Ave. Traffic will be detoured using G26, Highway 1 and Highway 22. Through traffic will be closed for the duration of the project which is scheduled for completion in early October. This project will resurface and widen existing pavement by six inches and pave a portion of the shoulders. Flynn Company Inc. of Dubuque was awarded the project for $3,540,988. SWAP construction dollars are being used to pay for this project with a $500,000 Traffic Safety Improvement Program grant paying for the paved shoulders.
