A Washington man was arrested after a single vehicle incident Sunday night.
A vehicle was reported in the ditch at 2295 290th Street at about 10:15 p.m. with the sole occupant appearing to be intoxicated and not responding appropriately. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office, Washington County Ambulance Service, Washington County Rescue, and Washington Fire Department were all initially called and the ambulance service and fire department was then disregarded. Thirty-three year-old Jose Leyver Rabanales Morales was arrested and charged with operating while intoxicated.
The Washington Police Department and Washington County Ambulance Service then responded to a wrecked motorcycle at the intersection of East 7th Street and 7th Avenue at 10:51 p.m. The motorist was transported by a police officer to Washington County Hospital and Clinics. Law enforcement across Washington County was also busy this weekend responding to people discharging fireworks, as at least 34 complaints were reported from Friday to early Monday morning.
