A Williamsburg woman was recently sentenced for Washington County offenses.
Court documents show that through a plea agreement, 32-year-old Sarah Louise McDonald was convicted of lesser offenses of forgery and credit card fraud, both aggravated misdemeanors. Two-year concurrent prison sentences were suspended for McDonald to be placed on two years of probation. An $855 fine for each offense was also suspended. She is subject to any pecuniary damages the county attorney may file after the sentencing, and was found to not have the reasonable ability to pay category B restitution.
McDonald was originally charged with class D felonies for incidents that happened on March 21st. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a bank card theft. The victim monitored activity on her bank card, and one transaction was caught on surveillance video. A sheriff’s deputy was informed that the card was turned into the Wellman Dollar General where McDonald was an employee. After speaking with McDonald she admitted to law enforcement that she took the card to purchase over $3,200 worth of items.
