A pair of KCII area soccer athletes will take the pitch in Des Moines Saturday to participate in the annual East vs West Senior Soccer All-Star series presented by the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association. In the girls contest, Columbus Wildcat Odalyz Valdez will take the field as a forward and midfielder for the east team. The senior started 11 games for Columbus, collecting seven goals to go along with two assists, helping to lead the Wildcats to a 7-5 record.

In the boys all-star game suiting up for the east team it will be Mid-Prairie’s Ethan Trimpe at defender. He posted nine assists in his final season with the Golden Hawks, sixth most in the River Valley Conference, helping to lead Mid-Prairie to a ranking as high as No. 5 in class 1A during the regular season and a push to the substate finals of the playoffs.

The girls take the pitch at 2p.m. and the boys at 4p.m. at Valley Stadium in Des Moines.
