The oversized scissors wielded by the Washington Chamber of Commerce weren’t the only pair of clippers you can find at a business that held its grand opening Monday.

The Chamber Ambassadors held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the opening of Stellar Nails located at 107 West Washington Street in the former Central Park Community Center. Stellar Nails is a family-owned business led by sisters Katie Le and My Nguyen and their mother Emmy Tran. A Mount Pleasant resident, Le has previously worked at salons in towns including Washington, Fairfield, Fort Madison, and Burlington. She shares why her family has chosen to make the commute to Washington, “I really like the people here, I really love just everyone. They just get along and so I just decided, when I talked to my sister about it we decided to open here because the community is just wonderful.”

Le’s family bought the storefront last October and had gradually renovated the space with the help of their friend Mike Ritz who also attended the grand opening. Stellar Nails offers manicures and pedicures, with plans to eventually expand into waxing and spa services.
