Quarterly reports from the Veterans Affairs/general assistance, recorder, and auditor’s offices were given during this week’s Washington County Board of Supervisors meeting.

Notable takeaways from the reports included that 1,601 documents were recorded in the last quarter. County Recorder Jo Greiner remarked that it’s the most they’ve had in a quarter since 2013, reflecting how quickly real estate is moving in the county and its volume. County Veterans Service Officer Sue Rich mentioned that so far this year they’ve had $757.51 spent on general assistance applications this year, which she said is very low. Rich predicts this lower amount is due to COVID-19 stimulus payments and unemployment benefits. County Auditor Dan Widmer commented that his quarterly report was pretty typical, showing $1,995 in total office fees and other collections. The board also recognized longtime county employees.
