Recent Mid-Prairie graduate Dominic McCain is continuing his competitive golf career this summer by participating in several Iowa Junior PGA Tour events. Most recently, McCain, a 2021 state tournament qualifier in class 3A, played TPC at Deere Run for the John Deere Classic Junior Open. He fired a two-day total score of 175, finishing 33 over for the tournament in 29th place. Tournament champion was Will Simpson of Pella, who beat Nathan Spear of Burlington in a playoff, each finishing with a two under par tournament score of 140. McCain shot 18-hole rounds of 88 on day one and 87 on day two.
