The Washington County Conservation Board approved the funding of a new Eagle Scout project during their July meeting.

Jacob Donaldson approached the board with an idea to put benches around the Foster Woods pond in Wellman.  Donaldson plans to build the benches himself and has already secured donations to fund the project. Washington County Conservation Executive Director Zach Rozmus explains why the project is a great fit for the area, “Back in 2018 we completely redid that entire pond, built some shelter around it and now it’s to a point of we’re looking for what’s the next project that we can do.”

The conservation board will finance any remaining costs of the project and assist Donaldson in any further needs.
