The Big Red Radio made two stops on the KCII Summer Town Tour this past week at the Keokuk County Expo and Chief Wapello Days.

Spanning a week, the Keokuk County Expo had plenty to offer. 4-H and FFA members exhibited in the llama, sheep, rabbit, swine, dog, pet, pony and horse shows. Entertainment included the Bill Riley Talent Show, a bags tournament, kid’s figure eight race car rides, carnival, bingo, pedal tractor pull, face painting and the kid’s FarmStrong competition. Friday night featured a live musical performance from Zach Daniels and Robert Deitch.

Chief Wapello Days began Thursday evening with performances from acapella group Wapetonics, Wapello Jazz Band and the band Pearl featuring Chris Wyrick and Tanya McDowell. After the sunset, residents took the streets for the Lighted Parade. Friday’s events featured a rodeo and teen dance. Saturday was a full day of fun with a pancake breakfast, 5k color run, antique car and tractor show, a board game themed parade, big wheel races, disc golf, rubber duck drop race, rodeo, and an adults only karaoke night.

KCII broadcasted live at the events as a part of the Big Red Radio Summer Town Tour. Next stops are the Washington and Louisa county fairs.
