The non-profit organization Friends of Bunker Mill Bridge is back with their Rockin’ River summer concert series.
After cancelling last year’s performances due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Friends of Bunker Mill Bridge began hosting live concerts once again at the start of July. All performances take place outside at the bridge located at the juncture of Nutmeg and Poplar avenues southeast of Kalona with different bands and artists each week. Friends of Bunker Mill Bridge Director Scott Allen describes what makes this venue unique, “The band sets up on the bridge and everyone sets up their chairs on the approach area. We have a great time in nature out at the river.”
Everyone is encouraged to bring their own chairs and coolers when attending the concerts. Rockin’ River takes place Tuesdays at 6:30 p.m., with bands scheduled for tonight and July 27th. Tickets are $10.
