The Riverside Casino and Golf Resort was named the winner of this year’s Give Back Iowa Volunteer Challenge for a large employer. 

Since the challenge first began seven years ago, Riverside Casino has won the challenge five times. Volunteer Iowa and its partners work with organizations to develop quality programs, engage Iowans in their communities by promoting service and expand the volunteer base and connect individuals with appropriate service opportunities. Riverside Casino finished the challenge with nearly 17,000 volunteer hours logged over a two-month period. Riverside Casino Facilities Director Brett DeWolf explains an incentive program they put in place to help get more volunteers, “The program was incentivized a few years ago by our leadership team to where we can pay back up to five dollars for every hour we volunteer. We can choose to donate that to the charity of our choice.” 

The challenge ran from April 1st to May 30th with small and large employer winners announced on July 6th.
