The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys basketball team will travel to Kansas City this Christmas season to participate in the inaugural 12 Courts of Christmas event hosted at the HyVee Arena. More than 110 teams will participate in the tournament, coming from all over the Midwest including Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Iowa. Joining the Golden Hawks from the Hawkeye state will be Ballard, Creston, Des Moines North, Des Moines Hoover, and Grand View Christian.

The tournament will feature 12 courts in action simultaneously. More teams are still being added for the event, with the organizers hoping to entice 150 teams or more to participate. Inquiries have also been received from teams in Minnesota, Wisconsin and California. The 12 Courts of Christmas tournament is set to begin on Saturday, December 18th and continue through the end of the year.
