The Southeast Conference handed out postseason softball awards and six Washington players were named to the all conference teams.
Kellie Dallmeyer and Ella Greiner headlined the selections being named to the first team. Dallmeyer had an illustrious Demon career and this year led the SEC with a .529 batting average. The senior catcher scored 48 times, brought in 43 tallies, recorded a .621 on base percentage, led the league with 111 total bases, and broke a school record with eight home runs. Greiner busted onto the scene in her eighth grade season by recording a .525 OBP that featured 30 walks, collected 21 RBI, came around to score 31 times, and played a solid left field.
Second team selections for the Demons included Emmy Wenger and Bella Salazar. Wenger occupied shortstop for the orange and black and cleaned up at the dish with 28 RBI. The freshman had a .392 OBP and collected 13 extra base knocks. Salazar brought in 23 runs in her eighth grade campaign and did a bulk of the work in the circle with a 4.95 ERA in 99 innings. Honorable mention selections included Cameron Malichky and Ava Turner. Malichky is the season school record holder for walks with 33 and that helped translate to a .439 on base percentage. Turner recorded a .302 average with 21 RBI.
Additionally, all three seniors in Dallmeyer, Malichky, and Emma Herr as well as junior Ava Turner were recognized for their work in the classroom being named academic all conference.
